Hopefully all of you had a great weekend! Week one of the new semester is behind us and it’s time to take on another week. I know that many of you used last week to reestablish relationships and expectations with current students and the beginning of new relationships with new students. This week we should be all hard at the business at hand. That business is teaching and learning. I know all of you will have great lessons prepared for our students so that they can have growth in your respective areas. Our students always deserve our best.
A big shout out to the counseling department for putting on a great College and Career day this past Friday. Each time we are able to expose them to various colleges, career schools, and military options we help them prepare for their next. As I mentioned to you last week, if we do not prepare them for what’s after Naaman Forest then we have failed them. Thanks counselors for being part of what’s “next” for our students.
Another shout out goes to our soccer and basketball teams. Our boys soccer team did a great job at the Coppell tournament this past weekend. Our boys and girls split with South Garland with our girls winning, and our boys coming up short. It was great to watch both basketball teams represent Naaman in a great way.
I know there are many other clubs and organizations that have kicked off this semester. I am thankful that we have so many opportunities for our students to have connections to a caring adult as well as other students who they for life long relationships with. Thanks for being extraordinary.
It’s great to work at a school full of future legends. I appreciate the work you are doing to carry out the vision of Naaman Forest High School: To be the best high school in Garland ISD, and to be the best high school in the state of Texas. We can do this, together! When we rally behind our goals: To ensure that every student learns and is able to reach his/her full potential, all of our students are connected to something or someone, all of our students graduate from Naaman Forest, and a positive campus culture for all. Do not let anything divert your attention away from our goals. We Are Naaman!
Have a great week!
