#Principalswag

Principalswag!  Yep!  I said it! Principals can have swag too!  I often give out #principalswag awards on my twitter for principals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, or for principals who consistenly get it done.  Let’s face it, being a principal is hard but it is one of the most rewarding professions there is.  You have to balance the students, staff, and the parents and community members.  The “s” in swag represents “servant”.  To have swag you must be a servant.  One of the greatest things you can do in your role as a principal is serve those that you work with.  The “w” in swag represents “willing”.  If you are a principal you must be willing to do anything that is needed.  You can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.  The “a” in swag represents “action”.  All good principals are action oriented.  You have to get the job done.  If you say you are going to do something, you must do it!  The final letter in swag is “g” and it is “greater”.  As principals we always have to work to make the learning organization greater.  If it is not moving forward and getting better, then we are headed in the wrong direction.

To all my principal friends: Show your swag!

S-servant
W-willing
A-action
G-greater

This is a picture of me with some of the members of our football team.  Don’t they look great in their blue blazers!  Go Tigers! Home of Champions!
