Can you believe it’s already May?  The school year has gone by so fast!  We still have a little bit longer to go.  This is that final part of the race where you are super tired, out of breath, and your brain is saying stop, just give it up.  This is where the heart has to jump in and say I can do this.  Let your heart take you through the finish line.

We will have our final round of testing this week.  We will have STAAR testing as well as AP testing.  That means it will be super busy around The Forest.  Please make sure you have gotten all the information needed to help all things run smoothly.  If you do not know the answer to something, just ask.  Mr. Quach is the person to see for STAAR testing, and Mrs. Gillham is the person for AP testing.  The better the environment for testing the more our students can focus on showing what they have learned.

This week we will have two teams meeting to discuss the future of Naaman Forest High School.  A group of teachers and students will meet to discuss and give input on the instructional framework for our campus.  We will develop what we should see in a classroom at Naaman and what learning outcomes should look like.  If we want to be the best, we have to plan to be the best.  Secondly, we will have a group of students meeting to decide cultural norms and beliefs for our students.  We want all of our students to know our core belief system at Naaman.  They will develop it and hopefully it will lead to what all of our students believe about a student at Naaman Forest.  Stay tuned!

Shout out to the baseball and softball teams.  They both represented Naaman in a great way in the playoffs.  The softball team came up short to Rockwall in the Area round of the playoffs and the baseball team came up short against Coppell in the bi-district round.  Go Rangers!

Shout out to the Naaman Forest Jazz Band!  They competed in the Texas Wesleyan/TCC Jazz Festival and won 1st place and were named Grand Champion for the 6th year in a row! Wow!

Don’t forget to have fun!

We Are Naaman!
