Wow! The first day is finally here! I know each of you have been waiting on this day with great expectancy.  Our students will be full of all types of emotions:  some will be super excited to see their friends, and many of you.  The tough thing is that some of them do not like school and the super social aspect of it.  The great thing is that they have you to make the transition from summer relaxation to school structure an easy one.

I have spoken to you many times over the past couple of weeks about being a legend.  Remember, tomorrow either starts your path to legendary status, or extends it.  Whatever the case may be you fully control your destiny in the classroom.  You are the captain of your classroom and the greatness that is possible there starts with you.

Start with relationships, clearly convey your expectations and procedures, and never forget to engage your learners.  Knock their socks off!

*Remember to smile hard and often!
*Remember to stand and greet students at the door and in the hallways between classes.
*Remember to move around actively in your classroom.  They always appreciate this.
*Remember to encourage before you discourage.
*Remember to share your heart.  They’ll share it right back with you.

**Remember to have fun!
