It’s Almost Time!

It’s almost time!  If you are like me you are super excited about our start on Wednesday.  Enjoy your next couple of days, because when we start we’ll be busy getting things ready for our wonderful students all the way until the first day of school.

We would like to welcome Robert Quach to The Forest.  He is coming to us from North Garland High School and we are excited about all of the expertise he will bring.  He is replacing Donna Hutcheson.  We thank her for her many years of faithful service to Naaman.  She will be a great asset to North Garland High School.

Hopefully all of you have received the letter I sent to your homes.  The letter included a draft of the fall staff development schedule.   We have made a few updates to the schedule and I will include it with this correspondence.

I know many of you may have heard or seen the construction that is taking place at The Forest.  It’s quite an undertaking.  I am fired up about how things will look once they have finished.  Our school will look amazing upon completion!  We have finally moved into the front office.  It was sort of weird coming in here because we have been enjoying the portables.  I kind of felt like I was sneaking in…Lol!   There will still be lots of construction going on when you arrive Wednesday morning, but we will make it work.  Your classrooms will be ready for move-in when you arrive.

If you have had the pleasure of stopping by the school you will see that many of our students are already in full swing with various activities.  They love to see your welcoming smile as you walk the building.  I have been trying to get around at a lightning pace to meet all of our students who are already on campus.  We have great students!

I would like you to think about one thing before you return Wednesday. Think about your plan to ensure that we have the best year ever at Naaman.  In order to be the best high school in GISD, and the state of Texas, we all have to do our part to achieve excellence.  I’ll be asking you about your plan this week!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
