Grit Will Get it Done!

It will be great to be back in the building this week.  I was out three days last week at a training so I can’t wait to see all of the smiling faces at Corsicana High School!

Students, I want to encourage you to continue to press hard toward all of your dreams.  Many students have expressed to me how stressful the spring semester can be.  I know many of you are involved in several school activities, are working regular jobs, and have tons of school work on top of it all.  One student recently said to me: “Once I get one thing done, another thing pops up, when does it all end!”  I want you to watch the following TED Talk over grit.  Angela Lee Duckwork says that grit is how you truly achieve success.  She says that grit is having passion and perseverance for very long term goals.  So keep working hard! Keep pushing! Keep pressing! Have grit!

Prom
This year’s prom will be Saturday, May, 10 beginning at 8 pm.  It will be held at the IOOF Special Events Center.  I cannot wait to see all of our students dressed up in their formal attire.  Prom is a such a special time in the life of a high school student.  Tickets are on sale for $50.  Have fun! Be safe!

Reminder!!!
We will have school this Friday!  This is a bad weather make-up day.  See you Friday morning!
