Welcome back to your best week yet. This will be a busy week for all of us. Grades will be due at the end of this week. Most of our students have shown mastery and have done exactly what has been asked of them. Unfortunately, some of them may have missed the mark. That’s ok…there’s still time to use your teacher creativity to find ways for them to show mastery. Remember, no student shows up with the intent to not do well. Keep encouraging and inspiring them to do their best work. Also, utilize parents, they want to help.
You may wear jeans with spirit attire Thursday and Friday!
As we continue with our charge to improve the Tier 1 experience on our campus for our students it is important that we have a robust professional learning protocol on our campus. Many of you have stated that you would love to have more professional development available to you. Stay tuned for more information in regards to professional learning both face to face and through the Swivl model.
I wanted to share a quick strategy with you. It’s called “What Stuck.” It’s a quick exit ticket for your students. Students should know that they have to be accountable for their learning each day. This is a quick way to see what they are grasping and can help you plan for future instruction. Remember we can’t let them off the hook. We have to know what all students have learned at the end of the lesson cycle. This link gives some brief information on how to get this going in your classroom: http://teach-from-the-heart.blogspot.com/2013/07/what-stuck-with-you-today-exit-tickets.htmlYour students would certainly appreciate this happening in your classroom. PS, I’ve seen this happen in our school and it was amazing!
I hope your ideas are coming for Homecoming. I’m still trying to decide what I want to do. Let’s make it fun!
