It’s Teacher Appreciation at The Forest! It’s often hard to put in words the incredible work that you do for your students. Being a teacher is challenging. It’s a challenge that’s becoming more and more challenging each year. I never thought a time would come when I feel like I am losing touch with fully understanding them. It’s happening! As hard as it is we all have to stay relevant. I appreciate all of you. Keep being great for the students of Naaman Forest High School.
It’s Mother’s Day (I wrote this last night) and Teacher Appreciation week and I wanted to share a few things about my dear mother. She is the sole reason that I chose to go into teaching. She was strong, poised, professional, and a Hearne Eagle all day. I can still see her dancing and singing at every pep rally at HHS. She loved her family and her school. She cared deeply for her students and did all she could to ensure success from all of them. I can still hear her on the phone in the evenings calling parents and speaking very directly to them about their performance or lack thereof in her class. She didn’t play. I miss her dearly, but I find joy in the incredible legacy she left. Over the years she taught middle school and high school PE, coached volleyball, Reading, English I-4, Dual Credit English, Honors English, and also served as district librarian. She never taught me, but she was my favorite teacher. There is no profession greater than teaching. Enjoy your week!
Happy Teacher Appreciation!
Happy Mother’s Day!
We Are Naaman!
Shout out to DA McCartney! He did a great job at the state Track and Field Meet in Austin this past weekend. He got 5th place in the 300 hurdles. He represented Naaman on the largest stage in a great way. Go DA! Go Rangers!
