Hopefully you are fired up for this week.  I am!  We are fortunate to have the best students in Garland ISD and we are all charged to provide them with the best educational environment possible.  Game on Rangers!

Two meetings took place this week in order to help us begin to map out our plan to make Naaman Forest High School the best high school in Garland ISD.  We have to have exceptional programs and our community has to know about those great programs.  We have to have great instruction and the best people to make that happen.  And we all have to do it together.  Stay tuned!  Your next begins now!

I would like to share with you the instructional strategy of scaffolding.  Great teachers consistently use this strategy in the classroom to move students to greater independence.  It’s simply about supporting students in the learning process and gradually shifting the responsibility of learning to the students.  Please read the following article to learn more about scaffolding: https://www.edglossary.org/scaffolding/  Please view the video found below regarding scaffolding to give you more information.  Think about the following questions as you begin the scaffolding process (hint these questions come from the video): What does this student or group of students currently know and what can they do? What do they need to know and be able to do?  How big is the learning gap?  What scaffolds will help them bridge this gap but still keep the learning challenging?  Happy scaffolding!
