Be the Best!

In order to be the best you have to think like the best.  I talked to you at the beginning of the semester about the Alabama Crimson Tide and how they have a reputation of being the best team in college football.  I don’t like them, but it is what it is.  They are the best because they operate like the best.  The same can be said for the New England Patriots.  I do not like them either, but let’s face it they are good and they’ve been good for a really long time.  They just win!  Even when they probably shouldn’t win they find a way to win.  They do not accept second best!  That has to be our attitude at Naaman when it comes to doing what’s best for our students.  If we want them to be the best we have to be the best.  Naaman will be the best high school in Garland ISD and the state of Texas, but it starts with all of us.

A big shout out to the Naaman DECA organization for a big weekend at North Garland HS.  We brought home 19 State Qualifiers!  This is a Naaman Record!  Wow!  We were also the only GISD school recognized for our growth in membership.  Go DECA!

If you have Seniors, or a relationship with a Senior student it is a great time to start asking them questions about what’s next.  Our students, and like many other students across the state and nation begin to have anxiety about what they will do after high school.  Sometimes just having a simply conversation with them can help ease their anxiety.  When I speak to them I often listen to them on the first talk and follow back up with them later to dialogue more.  Remember what of the most impactful things we can do for them is to help them secure a great “next.”

Shout out to our girls and boys basketball team for defeating North Garland on Friday.  Go Rangers!

If you have an opportunity stop by the office and see Officer Hawkins!  He’s back with us!

We Are Naaman!
